Automation Engineer – Siemens PLC / SCADA

Role purpose

Develop, test and commission PLC and SCADA systems for dairy and process plants, including pasteurisers, CIP systems and utilities, and support running plants.

Key responsibilities

Engineering

• Prepare I/O lists, control philosophy and system architecture from P&IDs.
• Write PLC programs on Siemens S7-1200 / S7-1500 in TIA Portal: sequences, interlocks, PID loops and recipes.
• Develop HMI and SCADA screens on WinCC / WinCC Unified: mimics, alarms, trends and reports.

Testing and commissioning

• Test panels and programs with the in-house panel shop before dispatch (FAT).
• Carry out loop checks, I/O checks and commissioning at site.
• Configure Profinet / Profibus networks and VFD parameters.

Support and migration

• Attend service calls and remote troubleshooting.
• Support S7-300 / S7-400 maintenance and migration to S7-1500.
• Keep program backups, version records and as-built documents for every project.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Siemens PLC programming.
• At least one program written and commissioned independently.
• Knowledge of field instruments, 4–20 mA loops and VFDs.
• Willingness to take a practical test at Sanand.

How performance is measured

• Programs and screens delivered to schedule.
• FAT completed without repeat faults.
• Service calls closed within agreed time.
• Complete backups and documents for every project.
