Role purpose

Fit SS sanitary process and utility piping to isometric drawings, ready for TIG welding and testing.

Key responsibilities

Fitting

  • Measure, cut and face SS pipes and tubes; prepare joints for TIG welding.
  • Fit bends, tees, reducers, TC clamps, unions, valves, pumps and instruments.
  • Maintain slopes and drainability as per drawing.
  • Fix pipe supports, clamps and brackets.

Testing and records

  • Carry out hydro / pressure tests and flushing.
  • Prepare material take-off for each line.
  • Report damaged or short material to the engineer.

Safety

  • Use PPE and follow site safety rules.
  • Keep tools and the work area in order.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of SS pipe fitting in process plants.
  • Ability to read P&IDs and piping isometrics.
  • Knowledge of sanitary fittings, valves and hydro testing.

How performance is measured

  • Lines completed against the plan.
  • Zero leaks at hydro test.
  • Zero safety incidents.
